What is microneedling and how does it work?

Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a highly effective skin treatment for those in search of a minimally invasive facial aesthetics procedure.

At FaceKind we use an automatic, CE certified microneedling device to repeatedly create microscopic punctures in the skin. The pinpricks cause slight injury to the skin which in turn stimulates collagen and elastin production.

Over time, the skin regenerates and repairs itself to produce smoother, firmer, brighter looking skin. The tiny channels created allows deeper penetration of active ingredients from the Ph Formula skincare range of products used throughout the procedure. The products used are bespoke to the patient’s skin, ranging from a chemical peel to a vitamin C brightening treatment. The medical grade professional use products further optimise microneedling results.

What are the benefits of microneedling?

Microneedling is an ideal option to treat the following:

  • Fine lines/wrinkles
  • Scarring (acne/surgical)
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Stretch marks
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Reduced skin elasticity

How often should I have the treatment?

Microneedling is typically spaced one month apart. The number of required sessions vary for everyone depending on the severity of the skin concern, condition and age. We ideally recommend a series of 3-6 sessions for optimal results, nonetheless you will notice an immediate benefit after just one session.

Numbing cream will be applied and left on the skin for 15 minutes to increase comfort prior to microneedling. The procedure itself takes approximately 30 -60 minutes. Redness is common immediately after treatment and flaking of the skin a few days later to reveal fresh, radiant skin.
